About Cornerstone - Airdrie

Welcome to Cornerstone Church - Airdrie!

We have three core values that help us define what life looks like at Cornerstone - Airdrie.

Value 1 - We are a FAMILY (Mark 3)

In Mark 3 Jesus is teaching in a house when His family come to see Him. When Jesus is alerted to their presence we read "34 Then He looked at those seated in a circle around Him and said, 'Here are My mother and My brothers! 35 Whoever does God’s will is My brother and sister and mother.'"

This is at the heart of our identity for Cornerstone - Airdrie.  We are family.  We are God’s family and we become family to each other.  We are not a family by blood, but a family that's been bought by blood.

As Cornerstone Church we 'Follow Jesus Together' and for Cornerstone - Airdrie - 'As Family We Go'

Value 2 - We embrace CHILDREN (Mark 9)

The second value we hold dearly comes from Mark 9 where we read, "36 He took a little child whom he placed among them. Taking the child in His arms, He said to them, 37 'Whoever welcomes one of these little children in My name welcomes Me; and whoever welcomes Me does not welcome Me but the one who sent Me.'”

Jesus tells us if we receive children well, then we have received God well.  We need to be a church that celebrates and loves, loves, loves children. We believe that children are both the church of tomorrow but at the same time, the church of today.  If we want a church tomorrow we need our children to be part of the church today.

We are a church that really loves and celebrates kids.

We know that kids bring messes and noise; and we don’t just ignore those things.  We have a desire to train up children in the way they should go.

Value 3 - We desire to be MULTI-GENERATIONAL

And the last of our core values doesn’t really come from a single verse but rather it is something that found all throughout scripture.

1 Timothy 5:1&2 - "1 Do not rebuke an older man, but exhort him as a father, younger men as brothers, older women as mothers, younger women as sisters, with all purity."

Joel 1:3 “Tell your sons about it, and let your sons tell their sons, and their sons the next generation”

Joel 2:16 Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children and the nursing infants. Let the Bridegroom come out of his room and the bride out of her bridal chamber…

Psalm 145:4, “One generation shall praise Your works to another, and shall declare Your mighty acts”

You are never too young to become a part of a family and you never become too old. Generations and multi-generations are crucially important to us.  Age doesn’t determine if you are a part of a family and it doesn't determine if we are a part of this family.  As long as we are alive we are apart of a family. Everyone is welcome, everyone is needed.

We are a family not by blood, but a family that’s been bought by blood.

As family we go!
